For Your Visit

Texas GI strives to deliver superior service and a quality experience to each and every patient. Your preparation is a very important part of the success of your procedure. To ensure these high standards are maintained, please review the guidelines and instructions below to prepare for your appointment. And remember, preparation can start as much as 24 to 36 hours before your appointment, so make sure you read these instructions a several days ahead of time in order to be prepared.

  • CONFIRM the time of your appointment. A few days before your procedure, you will receive a call from an automated system reminding you of your appointment and confirming the time.
  • CONFIRM a driver and patient escort for the day of your procedure. You MUST be accompanied by a person over the age of 18 who can wait for you during your procedure (2 to 3 hours) and take you home after the procedure is complete. Driver and patient escort MUST be CONFIRMED at check-in or your procedure will be rescheduled. Use of a taxi service or other ride share/public transport is NOT allowed.
  • DO wear loose, comfortable clothing, including cotton socks which may be left on during the procedure.
  • DO bring your government-issued photo I.D. (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
  • Do NOT wear jewelry (this includes wedding rings, earrings and body piercings)
  • Do NOT wear high-heeled shoes
  • Do NOT bring any valuable personal items such as cellphones, tablets, laptops, keys, or jewelry
  • DO bathe or shower prior to leaving your home before attending your procedure
  • Do NOT apply lotion to your arms or chest before the procedure
  • DO continue to take any blood pressure or heart medications in the morning with only a sip of water. These are the only medications you may take the morning of the procedure.
  • If you are diabetic, DO check your blood sugar level at home before attending your procedure
  • If you use as inhaler, DO use it prior to arrival and bring it to the center with you
  • DO bring a list of all your current medications with dosage and frequency (Download and print Medication Reconciliation Form)

Please note that women of childbearing age may require pregnancy testing.

Your Appointment

Your actual procedure will last a very short time, typically between 15 and 30 minutes depending on your procedure – but plan to be at the center for up to two hours. Please check in with the receptionist 30 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete necessary paperwork.

Locations & Directions

Texas GI Endoscopy Center is located at 2704 N. Galloway Avenue, Suite 102, Mesquite, Texas 75150. There is parking available in front of and alongside the building. When you enter the building through the front doors, please follow the hallway to suite 102 at the end of
the corridor.

Please remember that patient escorts MUST be confirmed at check-in and therefore must be in the building with you.
